Improving Kanban

<p>This training teaches advanced principles of the Kanban Method. It is for people who have already mastered the Kanban basics and want to learn more. Who is this workshop for? Project or Program Managers, Business Analysts, Line and Middle Managers (both within and outside of IT), Management Coaches / Trainers and Process Improvement Coaches interested in maximizing the effectiveness of their Kanban adoptions. Core concepts – both theoretical and practical – are explored through simulation, discussion and classroom teaching, including design techniques for single and multiple kanban systems, understanding and managing work-in-progress (WIP) at scale, introducing risk management practices into kanban systems, and implementing effective feedback loops. Prerequisites? Inexperienced students are strongly recommended to take the 2-day Kanban Foundation I training class before the attending thisl class. We will work with examples out of your daily kanban experience! The books “Kanban: Successful Evolutionary Change for your Technology Business” by David J Anderson or "Kanban Change Leadership" by Klaus Leopold is recommended reading. What will I learn? This workshop is ideal for practitioners seeking to sustain evolutionary change and improved service delivery at enterprise scale. By the end of the workshop participants will understand: How to apply a range of design techniques to maximize the effectiveness and sustainability of kanban systems, both to keep demand and capacity in balance and to stimulate continuous improvement How to manage knowledge discovery and service delivery across multiple kanban systems to drive improvement across the whole value stream How the Kanban Method’s evolutionary approach to change addresses organizational imperatives such as fitness, resilience and survivability. This workshop has a strong hands-on element, with exercises focused on building and refining advanced kanban systems Practicing Kanban at Scale and Improving your Kanban System The training is for companies and individuals who want to leverage up learning from the foundation level class. The class addresses both topics - improving existing kanban systems for smaller firms who want to take their implementation beyond the foundation level and achieve on-going improvements. The class will also appeal to big firms who want to come up with interdependent kanban systems and scale.</p>
