<p><span style="font-size:13px">The Improving class is for smaller firms who aren't interested in scaling but want to take their implementation beyond the foundation level and achieve on-going improvements. This class will also appeal to big firms who have already achieved Kanban at Scale.</span></p><p><strong>Who is this workshop for?</strong></p><p>Project or Program Managers, Business Analysts, Line and Middle Managers (both within and outside of IT), Management Coaches / Trainers and Process Improvement Coaches interested in maximizing the effectiveness of their Kanban adoptions.</p><p>Core concepts – both theoretical and practical – are explored through simulation, discussion and classroom teaching, including design techniques for single and multiple kanban systems, understanding and managing work-in-progress (WIP) at scale, introducing risk management practices into kanban systems, and implementing effective feedback loops.</p><p><strong>Prerequisites</strong></p><p><span style="font-size:12px">Inexperienced students are strongly recommended to take the 2-day Foundation-level kanban training class before the Advanced Practitioner level class. The book “Kanban: Successful Evolutionary Change for your Technology Business” by David J Anderson, a/k/a the “blue book”, is recommended reading.</span></p><p><strong>What will I learn?</strong></p><p>This workshop is ideal for practitioners seeking to sustain evolutionary change and improved service delivery at enterprise scale. By the end of the workshop participants will understand:</p><ul><li>How to apply a range of design techniques to maximize the effectiveness and sustainability of kanban systems, both to keep demand and capacity in balance and to stimulate continuous improvement</li><li>How to manage knowledge discovery and service delivery across multiple kanban systems to drive improvement across the whole value stream</li><li>How the Kanban Method’s evolutionary approach to change addresses organizational imperatives such as fitness, resilience and survivability</li></ul><p>This workshop has a strong hands-on element, with exercises focused on building and refining advanced kanban systems</p>
