Agenda

Day1/Module 1 : Kanban as an Evolutionary Change Model. Please read the Posit Science case study ahead of the class as we will discuss the Case study on Day 1 itself.

Day1/Module 5 : Evolutionary Change - It’s not difficult to imagine that implementing a Kanban system can have a dramatic short-term effect. And this happens! But we’re in this for the long term, helping organisations discover and sustain continuous improvement through evolutionary change.

Day 2/3 Module 2 : Kanban for the Enterprise: Here are a few Kanban Maturity Model (KMM) posters and you can find a few more on kanbanmaturitymodel.com. We will be exploring KMM briefly in Module 2. This will include Advanced WorkFlow Okaloa Flowlab Simulations

Day 3/Module 3 : Feedback Loops: I am sure you recognize this slide from your KMP1 training where we hinted at Upstream Kanban. I would like to request y’all to watch this video from Optimizely’s Head of Design, Jeff Zych - https://vimeo.com/243651831. This video will help you understand the evolution of cadences/feedback loops at Optimizely. I am planning to give y’all some homework on Feedback loops and this video I believe will help you.

Day 4/5 Module 4 : Improvement Techniques – We will explore strategies for Improvement. Kanban enables us to do all three – improve capability, shape demand and pursue elimination of root causes and reduce failure demand. Traditional process improvement and intuitive, instinctive management tends to focus on the right hand side – improving capability – and leaves a lot of value on the table by ignoring shaping demand and reducing failure demand. If time permits, this module will include Multi Team Flowlab simulation

Day 5/Module 5 : Evolutionary Change and Closure : Reiterate Day 1 (Module 5 learning) – We don’t believe in wishful thinking in Kanban. Its all about Pragmatic, actionable, evidence based guidance so let’s do something about it!!
